Rummage Update…..August 2010

Club News:
We are giving all 4x4 clubs the opportunity to display their vehicles this year and we hope that club stands will be a big new feature for the 2010 Rummage. Recent bookings include the East Devon 4x4 Club and the Land Rover Series 2 Club.

Charity news:
In addition to Project Mobility and Dartmoor Search and Rescue team, we have confirmed that 4x4 Response will have a display, to promote the excellent work that they do, assisting the emergency services wherever needed.
Autojumble:
There is still time to book an auto jumble pitch! Book online or contact us at ask@southwestrummage.co.uk or ring us on 01271 858938 for a booking form by post.
As per last year, it will be possible to pay on the day for a rummage pitch, however please be advised that this year an additional £5 is added to the pitch fee when paying on the day. We would greatly appreciate it if you could get in touch beforehand to let us know you’re coming.
The Sellers’ gate opens at 7.30am, and for the safety of pedestrians, will close to sellers at 9.15am, it is advisable to get on site early to grab the best pitches!

Gates open to the public at 09.30 a.m.
A must see event for all Land rover & 4x4 enthusiasts, Come along and have a rummage through hundreds of choice items for sale, and meet like minded enthusiasts. Don't be afraid to haggle for the right price for that 'must have' item!!! We expect to have a very varied selection of items from Series one & military items, right through to Range Rover & Discovery parts and accessories. In addition to all the autojumble pitches, we are delighted to announce that some of the regions' top 4x4 specialists will be attending the event with their trade and show stands. Please see our links section for the current list of confirmed trade exhibitors.
The regions' largest off road clubs have all been invited to come along & have display stands to showcase their vehicles, and the activities which they do, we will publish a list of who's confirmed in due course.
The showground is situated on quite an exposed site on the edge of Dartmoor, so be sure to bring some warm clothes, and don't forget your wellies and waterproofs!
On site catering will be present on the day, serving hot and cold food & refreshments.
Responsible dog owners are welcome, Please ensure that you clean up after your dog and do not leave unattended in cars.
Seller Information
Gates open to sellers at 07.30 a.m.
Do you have a large collection of stuff that could use a new home? Then why not take a sellers pitch for as little as £10, cash in on your unwanted items and have a cracking day out, at the same time!
Sellers pitches are available in advance from £10, you can book online today , or complete the contact form to recieve a postal booking form. Alternatively please feel free to give us a ring on 01271 858938 or 07854 471669, we will be happy to assist.
If you would prefer pay for your pitch on the day, we will be offering pitches on a cash only basis, at an additional cost of £5 per pitch. if you could contact us in advance to let us know you're coming, we would really appreciate it.

Location
The Stoney Park Showground (EX20 1SW) is located off Holsworthy Road, just to the west of Okehampton. The event will be signposted with brightly coloured arrows from the A30 at Sourton Down, (Tavistock junction), where the A30 meets the A386. We will also put marker arrows on local routes into Okehampton.
Prices
Visitor Entrance Fee:
£4.00 per person (under 10's free)
Seller Fees (pre-booked)
Land Rover/4x4: £10.00
Land Rover/4x4 and Trailer: £20.00
Van: £15.00
Van and Trailer: £25.00
Please note, all pitch fees are subject to an additional £5 charge if paid on the day, eg;- Land Rover & trailer on the day = £25.00
Sellers fee admits driver plus one assistant.
Terms and Conditions
Payment
All pitches must be paid for in full as per instructions on online & postal booking forms.
Passes & Tickets
Passes are not transferable, and no exhibitor will be admitted without such pass being produced on entering the showground site. Exhibitors’ passes entitle the driver, plus one helper to admittance. All other passengers will be subject to the standard entry fee of £4.00 per person. (under 10’s go free).
Trading Times
Exhibitors are invited to arrive and set up their pitches from 7.30am. All exhibitors must be in place by 9.30am, and for safety reasons vehicle movements on site will be strictly limited to emergencies only until 4.00pm The gates will open to the public at 9.30am, so it is advisable to get on site early.
Insurance
Exhibitors are advised to arrange appropriate third party insurance.
Fire Precautions
Exhibitors must adhere to all fire and safety regulations on site. Fires and barbeques are strictly prohibited at this event.
Health & Safety
Each exhibitor must adhere to and observe all rules and regulations that may be in force at the time, especially those which relate to health & safety. A copy of the organisers’ risk assessments will be available on site if required.
Alcohol
The consumption of alcohol on the site is strictly prohibited.
Sellers’ Restrictions
Goods of an inflammable, explosive, obscene or noxious nature must not be sold. Knives, crossbows, catapults, offensive weapons, firearms of any type including air powered guns & BB guns are strictly forbidden for sale or use on site. Exhibitors starting engines for demonstration purposes are requested to keep this to a minimum, so as not to cause a nuisance and/or safety risk to those persons around them. Exhibitors are welcome to bring vehicles on trailers to sell, but should the vehicle be sold, it must not be moved until after 4.00pm unless authorised by the organisers. No auctions, raffles, or pitching allowed. No loud music or P.A. systems, no food stuffs or drinks to be sold without a caterers’ tender from the organisers. The organisers regret that there will be no camping facilities available to exhibitors this year. Please ensure that all rubbish and unsold items are taken home with you. EXHIBITORS SELLING OILY VEHICLE PARTS ON THE FLOOR MUST USE A GROUNDSHEET!!!!! THIS IS A STRICT CONDITION - The showground is used for grazing all year round, we need to respect the site if we wish to return next year.
Cancellations & Refunds
Booking cancellations received no later than 14 days before the event (07-08-2010) will be refunded in full. The organisers regret that cancellations received after this date will not be refunded. The organisers accept no responsibility for any loss due to cancellation, abandonment or failure for any participant to arrive. No refunds will be made should the event be cancelled due to reasons beyond the control of the organisers (E.G. poor weather/ground conditions). In the event of a cancellation, the organisers will endeavour to re-schedule for a later date.
Exhibitors’ Liabilities
The organisers accept no liability for any damage personal loss or injury however caused. All exhibitors pitches must be properly protected so as to avoid danger to any person, or persons visiting or coming into contact with them. The organisers shall be indemnified by the exhibitor against any claim or action on account of any injury or damage being caused, or occasioned by any exhibit to any person whatsoever.
Dogs
Responsible dog owners are welcome, Please ensure that you clean up after your dog and do not leave them unattended in cars.
In all matters relating to the South West Rummage, the organisers' decision shall be final.
